Terms of Use

These terms apply to the Service Leadership Academy website at serviceleadershipacademy.org, to the member portal at app.serviceleadershipacademy.org, and to our text message program. By using them you agree to what is written here.

Service Leadership Academy is a Christ-centered homeschool co-op in Pleasant Grove, Utah, run by volunteers from its member families. We keep these terms short and plain on purpose.

How we handle information is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.

There is no public sign-up. Accounts are created by an administrator when a family’s application is accepted, and they are for the use of that family. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has it.

You are responsible for what is done through your account. We may suspend or close an account that is misused, or when a family leaves the co-op.

Membership, class registration, attendance, and the teaching commitment every parent makes are governed by our Handbook and Bylaws, which are part of these terms for member families. Where the Handbook and this page disagree about co-op operations, the Handbook governs.

Fees are invoiced through the portal and paid through Stripe, our payment processor. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our servers. Refunds follow the Handbook.

Program name: Service Leadership Academy.

By verifying your mobile number and ticking the consent box in the member portal, you agree to receive text messages from Service Leadership Academy about announcements, classes and schedule changes at the mobile number you have verified. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

How you opt in. Texts are off unless you turn them on. You turn them on yourself, in your own account, on the Settings page of the member portal. Two steps are required and neither is pre-selected: you enter your own mobile number and confirm a one-time code we text to it, and then you tick the consent box. Until both are done we send you no messages. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of membership, of enrolling in a class, or of anything else.

What we send. Transactional notices only — co-op announcements, class and schedule changes, and one-time verification codes. There is no marketing, and we do not text on anyone else’s behalf.

How you opt out. Reply STOP to any message, or turn texts off on the Settings page. Either takes effect immediately, and after that we will not text you again unless you opt in again yourself. Reply HELP for help.

Customer care. For any question about the text message program, write to info@serviceleadershipacademy.org.

Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not share or sell mobile information, phone numbers, or SMS opt-in consent to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes — see our Privacy Policy.

Use the site and portal for co-op purposes. Do not try to reach another family’s information, do not probe or interfere with our systems, and do not use the member directory to advertise, solicit, or build a mailing list. The directory exists so member families can reach one another.

Photographs and other material you upload remain yours. You give us permission to display them inside the co-op — in the portal and in co-op communications — and you confirm you have the right to share them, including the consent of any other family whose children appear. Tell us and we will take something down.

We run this on a volunteer budget and we do not promise the site, the portal, or text delivery will always be available or on time. Text messages in particular depend on mobile carriers we do not control. Do not rely on a text as the only notice of anything urgent; the portal calendar is the record.

Everything here is provided as it is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, Service Leadership Academy and its volunteers are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site or portal. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

If we change these terms we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects member families we will tell members directly.
